Moly-Ti
"The Most Explosive Titanium on the Planet!"™ (Patent Pending)
We've manipulated the chemical composition of Beta Titanium to effectively
enhance some of it's properties. The result is added durability, spring-like
effect and low frictional coefficient between ball and clubface. We've actually
applied for a patent on this new type of titanium to ensure the technology is
not used by our competitors. The face has been high polished to enhance the Moly-Ti
(Patent Pending) properties.
Plasma Welding
We've designed the ideal face composition and now all that is left is to marry
it to the club head in the best possible way. The fact is, when a driver breaks,
9 times out of 10, the breakage occurs along a weld line. Common sense would
suggest that if we reduce the number of weld lines the head should be stronger.
This is true to a certain degree, however the face must still be welded to the
body . We're fortunate to have access to a new process developed for golf clubs
in Japan called "Plasma Welding". This process allows for an extremely
small and strong weld line between the face and body. In the past, if welds were
too big they were strong but added too much weight and if they were too small
they would simply break.
Cup Face Technology
The X-1 Driver and Fairway Woods both benefit from a wrap-around or cup face
design. The weld line is not in the traditional face meets body area, but
slightly further in, transferring more energy to the ball and promoting greater
structural integrity.

Ashton X-1 Fairway | ||||||||||||||||
|
The X-1 fairway wood is the only component fairway wood designed with variable face density technology for maximum C.O.R. The faceplate is actually forged thinner around the perimeter and thicker in the center. Perfectly engineered weight distribution for optimum launch angles and unprecedented high C.O.R. result in distance and accuracy never before achieved by a fairway wood. |

Ashton X-1D Fairway | ||||||||||||||||
|
The X-1D fairway wood is designed with the same variable face density technology as the X-1 fairway wood, but deeper faced for added confidence. The faceplate is actually forged thinner around the perimeter and thicker in the center to promote higher C.O.R. and thus greater initial ball velocity. Golfers of all skill levels will achieve a significant edge by putting X-1D fairway woods in their bag. |
